5 things....

Looooong, long, ago, Joee of Cart Before the Horse "tagged"me...to tell you 5 things about myself!! And so...here's 5 things about me...and a picture!

  1. I wear aprons, every day, all day long...lots of folks think I'm kinda weird for doing this, but I just don't care. I am a BIG Mary Jane's Farm fan, and was very impressed with her Artists in Aprons issue....women in aprons mean serious business! I like that an apron is feminine, handy (though my vintage aprons are a bit flustered at the cell phone riding in the pocket!), and most important~~it says you're a gal with purpose. Which I am. :)
  2. I love to sew things by hand...I have an old book of embroidery stitches that I am slowly working through...can you imagine a time when, if you wanted an embellishment or decoration, you had to make it yourself?!
  3. Of all of the things I've ever made, mediums I've tried, etc. etc.....I love making bears the very most of all.
  4. I didn't know how to drive or have a license until I was 25 years old.
  5. My name is Megan Sue and when I was a little girl my cousin Spencer thought my name was "Bacon Soup". I thought his name was "Splinter". He was a little hard of hearing and I was...well. Hmmmmmm....

OK. Now to tag 5 people who haven't been tagged...which may be difficult since I waited sooooo long to play....hmmmmmmmmm...how about:

Sharon

Rochelle

Tammy

Betty

& Lori

Until next time,

Blessings,

Meg

5" Pinkeeper
Cushion is made from 100% wool felt...with so many careful embroidery stitches! The top heart is stuffed with sheep's wool, the bottom with crushed walnut shells...The ellie is made from hand-dyed mohair, patchy and worn...sweet blue flowered ric-rac and vintage charms complete this vintage-styled whimsical piece! *Hugs* will keep careful watch o'er your pins and needles...

******************************************************************************
*Sweet William*

12"
William is waiting for his sweetheart! Made in magpie-fashion...hand-dyed mohair that's been carefully aged, stuffed with excelsior and sand...loosely 5-way jointed~~and of course, antique, shoe-button eyes! William's body is sewn from vintage-reproduction quilter's cotton, and his ears are lined with the same...pads and eye accents are 100% wool. I have pinned a grand bow to him with vintage charms, and 2 vintage beads trim out his suit. He comes with a vintage paper shoe pinkeep that I have restored and embellished with ephemers...a tiny, giggling, angel! William is quite "distressed"~~"mended" here and there and he feels soooo very old! He would be right at home on a shelf of antique toys...
SOLD~~thanks!
**************************************************************
*Red and Yellow Pandy*

12"
Made in the same fashion as "William" (above), this fellow is absolutely grand! He sports a beautiful blue velvet bow pinned with vintage beads~~and he has William's other shoe! But his has the sweetest little boy on it, cut out in a heart shape...in fact, this dandy pandy and the boy on the shoe seem to have the same little smile. :)
SOLD! (thank you...)
************************************************************************
*Strawberry Sue*

12"

I love this gal's colors~! And I enjoy the reds and pinks of Valentine's so much, for they lead us into the warmer days of spring, slowly but surely...Made in Magpie-fashion, this gal is stuffed with a bit of wool as well...I have sewn her a strawberry emery...100% wool felt, stuffed with crushed walnut shells. It is pinned to the grand green bow that is pinned to her...such a sweet-pea she is!

on ebay!!

*************************************************************************
And that, my friends, is that! Thank you kindly for peeking into the nest...
Blessings,
Meg
PS~~I spell-checked, and find nothing but the usual argument of "pinkeeper" and "ric-rac"...seems too good to be true that I typed so well!! So. If you should find a hideous mistake, just know that I tried, my sweet friends...
